Our Programs

Empowering the Next Generation

WYSE is designed to elevate the middle school experience with small class sizes, individualized curriculum, social-emotional support and outdoor education.  Our programs include interest-based topics, problem-solving, and project-oriented group work to help our students intensify their curiosity and passion for learning.  The students lead the way.  We are here to support their interests.

We look forward to getting to know your child and your family!

Full Year Program

Our core program runs 4 days per week.  3 days at our main campus in downtown New Milford and 1 day a week at The Silo in New Milford, September through May. The student experience includes a diverse range of curricula, extracurricular activities, and opportunities to bond as a community. We offer many options for our students to choose from, helping them along their unique educational path.

Fridays Out

Classes do not run on Fridays so students are free to field trip with parents or friends, attend other programs, or join the Pratt Nature Center's "A Year in The Woods" Program. This program perfectly compliments our courses with their focus on natural sciences.

Interest Based Learning

Interest-based learning is the core tenet of our program. When students are given the freedom to learn about topics that genuinely interest them, they are more engaged, more attentive, and more likely to develop their love of learning. We encourage our students to think beyond the scope of classes currently offered and to request courses in subjects that interest them. We recruit staff and assemble a class schedule each year based on the requests of students and parents. This makes each student’s learning experience personalized and unique, just like them!
